Man Surrenders After Standoff With Joliet Police

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An armed, suicidal man surrendered after a standoff with Joliet police Thursday morning in the southwest suburb.

The incident began before 9:30 a.m. at the Harrah's Hotel and Casino parking garage at 151 N. Joliet St., Deputy Police Chief Tab Jensen said.

No one else was in the parking garage, but several streets in the area were closed, Jensen said.

The man surrendered to police about 11:20 a.m., Jensen said. He will be taken to a hospital for an evaluation before being taken to the station.
