Arrow Pointing Up For J.J. Watt's Chances Of Playing Against Bears In Week 1

(CBS) It's looking more and more likely that Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, will be healthy enough to play in Week 1 against the Bears.

Watt is "doing well" in his recovery from back surgery and expects to practice next week, the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday. Houston hosts Chicago on Sept. 11 in the teams' season opener.

Watt underwent surgery for a herniated disk on July 20 and has been sidelined since. He had 17.5 sacks last season.

Watt cryptically indicated on Twitter on Wednesday that he's nearing a return as well.
