CHICAGO (CBS) — We are fatter, but nicer.
At least that’s the view of Dick Wolf, who was in town this week to tout the mega production of his “Chicago” franchise.
“I tell people that Chicago, compared to New York — where I grew up and I still love — this is a cleaner, politer New York with slightly heavier people,” he said.
The city certainly is friendlier when it comes to accommodating his three, and soon to be four, shows shot in Chicago.
Wolf’s “Chicago Fire” was the first in the franchise in 2012. Production for all four of the shows is based in one production studio on the West Side, Wolf noted on Wednesday.
Wolf’s comments lit up the Chicago Reddit thread on Thursday morning.
Most took no offense at his analysis of the two rival cities.
“Ya, I’m actually really happy w/ this,” one Redditor wrote.
