CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago Police officer on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the Loop.

The officer was responding to a call when he was struck by a vehicle in the 0-100 block of South State Street at 2:18 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition and has since been released, police said.
