CHICAGO (CBS) – Actor Bill Murray and his brothers announced Wednesday the launch of William Murray Golf, a new lifestyle and apparel brand, to be released later this fall.
But William Murray Golf also launched an early release with special Chicago Cubs-themed apparel, including a shirt and two hats, in celebration of Bill’s birthday on Sept. 21.
A portion of the proceeds from the special release will go to a Chicago charity, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, which helps break the cycle of neglect and abuse for Chicago-area children and young adults, ages 11-21.
The full line is set to launch Oct. 21, at WilliamMurrayGolf.com, and will also be available at their exclusive partner, TheChivery.com. The line will feature uniquely designed polos, T-shirts, shorts, hats and Bill’s signature golf look — button-down golf shirts.
The youngest of the five brothers, actor Joel Murray, said the family’s history has played a vital role in their love of the game.
“Growing up caddying helped us learn about strict adherence to rules and subservience,” Joel Murray said. “Caddying also helped us learn we had no interest in either.”
With the launch of William Murray Golf, the Murray brothers plan to leave a lasting family legacy and mark on the game of golf.
