Girl, 17, Killed In Back Of The Yards Shooting
(STMW) -- A 17-year-old girl was fatally shot in the Back of the Yards early Saturday, police said.
The teen was in the backseat of a vehicle traveling north in the 4500 block of South Wood about 12:30 a.m. when a male on the sidewalk shot her in the head, police said.
She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where she later died, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner's office did not confirm the death early Saturday.
