23-Year-Old Killed In Waukegan Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was fatally struck Friday while walking along a road in north suburban Waukegan. Police are searching for both the driver and vehicle.

Officers responded Friday around 6 p.m. to a call of a person lying in the road near Dugdale Road and 10th Street. Upon arrival, police found a female, who was transported to Vista East Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to Waukegan police.

Waukegan Police Department's Traffic Division were called to investigate.

Investigators believe that the female, later identified as 23-year-old Reven Stevens, was walking northbound on Dugdale Road just south of 10th Street, when she was struck by a vehicle.

Stevens was found approximately 300 feet south of 10th Street on Dugdale Road, on the east side, Waukegan Police said. It is believed the accident took place between 5:45 and 6 a.m.

Stevens had a last known address in the 2400 block of Dugdale Road, police said.

There is no suspect vehicle information. Investigators are canvassing the area for video footage.
