CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has been charged with shooting and critically wounding another man Sunday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Kendall Burton-Smith, 25, was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with discharge of a firearm, according to Chicago Police.

Burton-Smith was in a fight with a 23-year-old man in the first block of West 95th Street at 1:05 p.m. Sunday when he pulled out a gun and shot the man in the left shoulder, police said.

The victim ran into the 95th Street Red Line station, where he was found by police and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The shooting suspended Red Line service on the South Side for more than four hours.

Burton-Smith, of the 8700 block of South Washtenaw, was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
