Chicago Police Seek Serial Arson Suspect

(CBS) -- Police seek an arsonist who may have set as many as seven fires since the end of February.

Three have been set on the 1900 block of North Clifton Avenue, the first two on Feb. 29 and the latest on Oct. 10.  Police bomb and arson detectives say in a community alert that the arsonist has used incendiary devices, Molotov cocktails and flammable liquids in setting the fires.

Other fires fitting the pattern were set March 14, on the 1200 block of North Cortland street; March 26 on the 1700 block of North Kingsbury Street; April 19 on the 1000 block of West North Avenue and Sept. 11 on the 1900 block of Kingsbury.

The man is said to be in his early 20s, 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds.

The key to the case may be the car witnesses have seen. Police seek a silver Ford Mustang that has passenger side body damage.
