God Probably Not Intervening In Cubs Game, But Pastor Has A Work-Around

CHICAGO (CBS) – The Chicago Cubs' 108-year history of futility has caused many a fan to seek intercession from a higher power.

A North Side pastor has some thoughts about that, WBBM'S Rob Hart reports.

Father Pawel Barwikowski doesn't think God is a "magician" or "wizard" who would or could intervene in the National League Championship Series between the Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"I can't really ask him, 'Can you please let the Cubs win?'" Barwikowski says.

But he says it's OK to ask God "to let them bring into practice all that they have learned in the preparation time."

Father Barwikowski says Cubs fans should be thankful for what has been a pretty good year.

"We did have fun," he says.
