Man Stabbed During Fight In Gresham

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was stabbed early Saturday after he started hitting two other people during an argument in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 52-year-old man was arguing with two other males about 12:05 a.m. inside a home in the 8100 block of South Throop, according to Chicago Police. During the argument, the man started hitting the other two males with his fists.

One of the males then pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the chest in self-defense, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.

One of the other males involved in the fight also suffered minor lacerations to his arm, police said.

Charges against the 52-year-old were pending Saturday morning, according to police.

A police source said all three people involved in the fight had been drinking.
