Bears Make String Of Minor Roster Moves

(CBS) The Bears made a string of minor roster moves Monday evening.

Chicago has placed quarterback Brian Hoyer on injured reserve with a broken left arm and waived running back Joique Bell. The Bears also elevated offensive lineman Cornelius Edison to the active roster, claimed tight end Daniel Brown off waivers and added offensive lineman Arturo Uzdavinis to the practice squad.

Edison entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State in 2015 and spent parts of these past two seasons on the Bears' practice squad.

Brown has appeared in eight games with the Ravens across these past two seasons after entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He has six career catches.

Uzdavinis is an undrafted rookied out of Tulane who previously spent time with the Texans.

Bell appeared in four games this year for the Bears, rushing just three times for six yards.

Hoyer took over for the injured Jay Cutler in Week 2 and posted quality numbers but couldn't lead the team to much success. He became the first player in franchise history to throw for 300-plus yards and zero interceptions in three straight games and the first to throw for 300-plus yard in four straight contests. He's thrown for 1,445 yards and six touchdowns this season.
