Die-Hard Cubs Fans Searching For World Series Tickets In Cleveland
(CBS) -- Many Cubs fans outside Progressive Field made the trek to Cleveland without purchasing a ticket, saying they just to be there to soak in the ambiance, CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports.
Judy Perkinson, a 72-year-old Cubs fan, wasn't going to miss a Cubs World Series for anything.
So the decked out die-hard hopped a bus from Hammond, Ind. to be in Cleveland amid Cubs fans hoping to find a Game 1 ticket.
Chicago native Roger Lewis got lucky.
"I can't afford it. Are you kidding me," he says, about the cost of tickets.
But he and a few other Cubs fans say they'll be 10 rows behind home plate, soaking in the sensation of their team in the biggest show of them all.
"A lifetime of networking," is how he scored the coveted seats, Lewis said.
"If you don't have tickets, be ready to spend a lot of Monday," said fan Bill Cagle, who's from Oswego.
The best price a pair of World Series tickets for Game 1 could sell for is about $2,500 per pair, but the price is expected to drop heading toward game time.
