Fans Pack Wrigleyville Bars For Game 1 Of World Series

CHICAGO (CBS) -- On Tuesday night, fans in Wrigleyville are packed into homes and bars watching their beloved Cubs face the Indians in Game 1 of the World Series.

This overview of the area is all aglow, no doubt with red and Cubbie blue, CBS 2's Audrina Bigos reports.

"So surreal," excited Cubs fan Ashley Maldonado says. "It's a dream. You don't even know how to explain it because you've never experienced it."

Alex Caccamo shares the same sentiment. "I've never experienced anything like it. It's electrifying."

And overwhelmed with emotion, fan Diane Corona says, "Oh my gosh, I just want to cry."

Gladys Valadez adds "It brings tears to my eyes."

It's been a long time coming, as the Cubs have advanced to their first World Series in 71 years. And many fans want to experience Game 1 together, just a block away from Wrigley Field.

"Being down here is basically being around the epicenter of it happening, finally," fan Jonathon Binkley says.

The fans are at Wrigleyville bars to experience the ups and downs, the roller coaster of emotions in a series to win it all.

"You want to get the whole feeling of it. This is history. We haven't come this far in so long," one long-suffering fan says.
