Collectors nowadays will pay some big money for it.
The moral of the story? Save your Chicago Cubs items, because you'll never know how much they'll be worth later, CBS 2's Dorothy Tucker reports.
In the 1945 World Series, the Cubs lost to the Detroit Tigers in Game 7.
Felt pennants from that era are now collectibles, valued up to $2,500 each, says appraiser Michael Osacky.
A pennant from 2016, by contrast, would be mass-produced and probably not worth as much in the future, he says.

So, what should you buy as the Cubs and Indians continue to square off? Programs are good collectibles.
Hang on to a program when the Cubs play at Wrigley Field, and Osacky says you'll be able to sell it for $75 someday.
Keeping a game ticket was a smart move back then -- and a smart one today. Only season-ticket holders have the real thing.
"Additionally, if you can get someone to sign it like a Joe Maddon or an Anthony Rizzo, that would be something special and really unique," Osacky says.
