Latest Trump Protest In Chicago Starts Out Smaller, Grows
(CBS) -- The latest protest aimed at President-elect Donald Trump in Chicago started off with considerably fewer participants Thursday, but grew throughout the evening.
Only about two dozen demonstrators gathered outside Trump Tower along the Chicago River -- a dramatic reduction compared with the hundreds, and then thousands, who marched through Chicago on Wednesday, at times blocking traffic.
Those bigger groups of protesters conceded they couldn't change Tuesday's election results -- Republican Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton -- but wanted to express their disdain for Trump.
Thursday's protest was scheduled for 6 p.m. at Chicago's Trump Tower. It grew over the course of the evening, and eventually dozens of demonstrators marched throughout the Loop, at times blocking intersections. Among the slogans shouted: "We reject the president-elect!"
Chicago wasn't the only city Wednesday with anti-Trump marches. Philadelphia, New York and Los Angeles were among the other cities.
Trump's Twitter page on Thursday blamed the media for inciting the protests.
