Bears' Jordan Howard Is Healthy, Fully Participated In Wednesday's Work

By Chris Emma--

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- Apparently, Bears running back Jordan Howard is OK after all.

Coach John Fox offered a scare after Sunday's loss in Tampa Bay when he stated that Howard had sustained an "ankle or Achilles" injury. Howard expressed at the time that he was fine. When the Bears returned to work Wednesday, Howard was a full participant and not listed on the injury report.

Fox confirmed that Howard participated in full. However, Fox later informed to the media in New York via teleconference that Howard was limited with soreness.

"Just happy it is not serious," Fox said to reporters in Chicago.

Losing Howard would be a brutal blow to the Bears, who seem to have found something in their fifth-round rookie. He's averaged 5.3 yards per carry and has 605 rushing yards accumulated in six NFL starts, with four games of more than 100 yards on the ground.

The Bears were missing tackle Bobby Massie (concussion), tackle Mike Adams (illness), nose tackle Eddie Goldman (ankle), defensive end Mitch Unrein (back) and defensive back Deiondre' Hall (ankle) in Wednesday's work. Massie is still in the NFL's concussion protocol. His backup, Adams, was held out of practice.

Receiver Eddie Royal, receiver Marquess Wilson, guard Josh Sitton, linebacker Pernell McPhee, linebacker Willie Young, cornerback Bryce Callahan and cornerback Tracy Porter were all limited in their work.
