Fiery Pernell McPhee Makes Another Fiery Proclamation As Bears Prepare For Giants

By Chris Emma--

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- On Sunday in the Meadowlands, the Bears will be tasked with pressuring Eli Manning and the Giants' offensive line, which has allowed just 13 sacks in nine games, the third-fewest in the NFL.

Bears edge rusher Pernell McPhee just doesn't care about what's happened this season.

"We're going to tear their ass up," McPhee said Wednesday. "I don't care what everybody else did. I mean, we're going to sack him around. He can throw the ball as many times as he wants, we're going to sack him. I'm going to make sure of that."

McPhee's Bears are eighth in the NFL with 24 sacks, led by Willie Young's 6.5. After coming off the physically-unable-to-perform list in Week 7, McPhee has a pair of sacks.

The emotional leader of the Bears' defense, McPhee has often made proclamations like these while hoping his teammates can follow suit.

Last season, McPhee said the Bears needed to hit Aaron Rodgers to win their Thanksgiving contest in Green Bay. They then followed suit with a victory over the Packers. Days later, McPhee relished in the win.

"I ain't gonna let nobody come beat my little brother up," he said. "We went in there and we slapped them on (Rodgers') ass. They need to go ask them how that feels."

Can McPhee and the Bears live up to their word against the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium? Tune in and find out.
