Robberies Reported This Week In Portage Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are warning residents about three robberies in the past week in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

In each of the robberies, the suspects have hit the victim in the head and taken the her purse, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. They also displayed a handgun during one of the incidents.

The robberies occurred:

- In the 3400 block of North Long at 7 p.m. Nov. 20;
- In the 3500 block of North Mobile at 3 p.m. Nov. 23; and
- In the 5200 block of West Henderson at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 25.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-1, 100-pound black male between 15 and 20 years old, police said. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

A second suspect was described as a 29-to-40-year-old black man standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 180-200 pounds, according to police.
