Former School Choir Director Resigns After Arrest

(CBS) -- An investigation into possible misconduct by a Crystal Lake Central High School choir director leads to charges -- and his resignation.

CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports.

Justin Hubly, 35, was arrested and charged with two counts of battery and one count of unlawful delivery of alcohol to a minor. Crystal Lake Police say some of the incidents, involving former students, happened inside his Crystal Lake home.

"That's real disturbing to find out that that's my neighbor," Nicole Boyer said Wednesday.

Hubley is also the president of the Community High School District 155 teachers union. In a statement, school district officials say they are cooperating with authorities.

Crystal Lake Police say a number of former students are still being interviewed. Some, who are out of state, are being interviewed by other agencies, assisting in the investigation.

Police say as the investigation continues and more charges could be coming. Right now, Hubly is out on bond.

His next court date is Dec. 27.
