Shots Fired At Chicago Police Officer Lead To South Side Standoff
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Five people were arrested after a five-hour standoff that started late Thursday when at least one person fired shots at a Chicago Police supervisor in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said.
The supervisor was driving an unmarked squad car about 10:20 p.m. near the mouth of an alley in the 8800 block of South Saginaw when someone opened fire on him, according to police. No one was hurt.
The supervisor saw someone run into a house nearby, and a SWAT team was called after they refused to come out, police said.
Three males were taken into custody about 3:30 a.m. Friday, and two more were in custody by 7:30 a.m., according to CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, who said multiple guns were recovered.
