Former Cub David Ross To Appear On 'Dancing With The Stars'

(CBS) Recently retired Cubs catcher David Ross will appear on the 24th season of "Dancing with the Stars," ABC announced Wednesday morning.

His partner will be Lindsay Arnold.

"He's the early favorite just because of the following he has now," Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant said. "We're all going to help him too. I've obviously watched shows like that where you have to vote, but I've never actually voted. I think I might actually call in or send a text in to vote this time.

"I don't know if he's worked out all offseason, but he looks the same to me."

Ross helped lead the Cubs to a championship last season, capping a 15-year career in style. He's staying plenty busy in retirement. He's been hired as an MLB analyst by ESPN and as an ambassador by the Cubs.

"Hopefully there's enough Tylenol to get him going," Bryant joked of Ross showcasing his dancing skills.

Nine athletes have won the "Dancing with the Stars" competition, though no baseball players have.
