Cubs Cut Spring Roster Down To 50 Players

(CBS) The Cubs on Mondy cut their spring training roster from 60 players to 50.

Chicago optioned right-hander Aaron Brooks, right-hander Jose Rosario and left-hander Jack Leathersich to Triple-A Iowa. Right-hander Duane Underwood was optioned to Double-A Tennessee.

Right-hander Seth Frankoff, right-hander Casey Kelly, right-hander Jhondaniel Medina, right-hander Conor Mullee and left-hander Zac Rosscup were sent to minor league camp. Right-hander Maikel Cleto was released.
