Inmate Charged With Attacking Cook County Jail Deputy

(CBS) -- A 22-year-old man released on parole less than two months ago is back behind bars, and accused of slugging a Cook County Jail guard.

Jason Killingsworth served five months of a three-year sentence for robbery and theft before being released on parole May 1.

He was arrested Wednesday on a new robbery charge, and the sheriff's office says he barely made it to the County Jail before getting into more trouble, allegedly punching an intake guard who was trying to put him into a holding cell.

Other guards and Chicago Police pulled Killingsworth off the guard.

The injuries to the guard required hospitalization but are not said to be life-threatening.
