(CBS) A day after long snapper Patrick Scales suffered what the team called a “serious” right knee injury, the Bears found a replacement.
Chicago has signed long snapper Jeff Overbaugh and waived Scales, the team announced Monday afternoon. The 23-year-old Overbaugh entered the NFL out of San Diego State in 2016 but hasn’t yet appeared in a regular-season game. Overbaugh spent time with the Rams in 2016 and then the Broncos this past May.
Scales played in all 16 games for the Bears in 2016.
