1 Killed In Crash Involving IDOT Snow Plow In South Holland

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person was killed and two were injured when an Illinois Department of Transportation snow plow collided with a passenger vehicle in south suburban South Holland.

Illinois State Police responded to the two-vehicle crash at 2:41 a.m. near 159th and Woodlawn in South Holland. The plow was headed west on Woodlawn when it hit a car as it was turning left.

Three people were injured, including the snow plow driver, state police said.

A male passenger of the car involved in the crash later died. The driver of the car and the driver of the plow were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives were investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, state police said.
