Teacher Charged After Throwing iPad At Student

CHICAGO (CBS) -- In Palatine, a classroom altercation with a student lands a teacher behind bars.

It happened here at Winston Campus Junior High School.

Police say a student refused to remove earbuds in class.

That's when the teacher allegedly pulled the earbuds out, and threw an iPad, hitting the student in the face.

The student didn't need medical attention.

The teacher, 51 year-old SueEllen Patkunas, is charged with misdemeanor simple battery.
