Facts/History

Allstate Arena has had quite the run over the past 30 years serving as one of the most iconic and largest indoor entertainment venues in the Chicago area...
First opened as the Rosemont Horizon in May of 1980, Allstate Arena was originally intended to be the home of the Chicago Cougars of the World Hockey Association, but the Cougars franchise folded in 1975.

No Chicago Cougars? No Problem.

Many others have called Allstate Arena home throughout the years. Past tenants included: the Chicago Horizon of the Major Indoor Soccer League (1980-81), the Chicago Sting of the Major Indoor Soccer League (1984-88), the Chicago Bruisers of the Arena Football League (1987-89), and the Chicago Skyliners of the American Basketball Association (2000-02).

Today, the multi-purpose Allstate Arena is synonymous with the DePaul Blue Demons Men's Basketball program, the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League, the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, and the Chicago Sky of the WNBA.

Along with the Blue Demons, Rush, Wolves, and Sky, Allstate Arena has also hosted professional wrestling's biggest event, WrestleMania, three times (tied with Madison Square Garden for the most all-time): WrestleMania 2 (1986), WrestleMania 13 (1997), and WrestleMania 22 (2006). It has also played host WWE's Survivor Series (1989), Backlash (2001), No Mercy (2007), Judgment Day (2009), Night of Champions (2010), and Money in the Bank (2011).

Other notable Allstate Arena events include:
- UFC 90 (the first ever Ultimate Fighting Championship event ever held in the state of Illinois)
- Professional Bull Riders "Built Ford Tough Series" in both 2006 and 2008
- The Harlem Globetrotters,
- Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey
- Concerts by the world's biggest musical acts for over 30 years.
