Cindy Schultz was driving south on Ridgeland Avenue near the intersection of 106th Street in Chicago Ridge about 1:15 p.m. when she drove off the road and struck a tree on the west side of the street.
Police have seen a spike in the number of stolen cars reported on the Southeast Side for a number of months. On Monday, they discovered dozens of stolen vehicles at a scrap yard in the 3000 block of East 106th Street in the South Deering neighborhood.
The two men were parked near 106th Street and Green Bay Road about 8:30 p.m. when a light colored car pulled up and someone inside shouted gang slogans, and then opened fire.
A school bus filled with children was apparently shot at in the South Deering neighborhood.
Two people were critically injured when a speeding car went through a red light and set off a chain reaction crash on the Far South Side Sunday morning.
