Candidate For Illinois House Sues Former Alderman For Slander

Eddie Winters, a candidate for the Illinois House of Representatives 10th District seat, filed the suit against former Alderman Ed Smith (28th), claiming Smith referred to him as a “wife-beater” who “failed to pay child support and leaves his kids starving.”

GOP State Lawmaker Wants To Find A Way To Boot Smith Again

A Republican state lawmaker says he can’t believe Derrick Smith was able to win back his seat in the Illinois House, even though he’s been indicted for bribery, and he wants his colleagues in the legislature to find a way to expel Smith from the House a second time.
