A convicted murderer who was on electronic home monitoring as a condition of his parole was one of two men charged late Thursday with taking six children and two women hostage after a shootout with Harvey Police this week.
Four remaining hostages who had been held captive for nearly 21 hours have been set free, and two suspects who engaged in a standoff with police in south suburban Harvey have been taken into custody Wednesday morning.
