Nationals’ 6 Home Runs Beat Cubs 11-5

Adam LaRoche hit two of Washington’s six homers, Ian Desmond had four RBIs and the Nationals beat the Chicago Cubs 11-5 on Tuesday night.

Nats’ Win Over Cubs Gives Washington Its 1st Winning Year

Ross Detwiler allowed four hits in seven shutout innings and Adam LaRoche homered Monday, giving the Washington Nationals their first winning season with a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

Cubs Hold On After 9th Inning Scare, Beat Nats 4-3

Jeff Samardzija felt he had something to prove. He certainly made his point on the mound. Samardzija dominated into the ninth, outpitching Jordan Zimmermann, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 4-3 Sunday for their first win of the Theo Epstein era.

Bullpen Blows Lead Again, Cubs Fall To Nats 7-4

Carlos Marmol insists it’s too soon for him to be frustrated. Cubs fans sure are, though. Adam LaRoche homered and matched a career-high with four hits, and the Washington Nationals again rallied late against Kerry Wood and Marmol, scoring five runs in the eighth to beat the Chicago Cubs 7-4 on Saturday.

Cubs Start Epstein Era With 2-1 Loss To Nationals

As Ryan Dempster left the field at Wrigley to a standing ovation, the Chicago Cubs looked ready to start the Theo Epstein era on a winning note. The cheers didn’t last. The lead didn’t either.
