Rauner Appoints ‘Rooftop Pastor’ To Illinois Tollway Board

Gov. Rauner’s office on Friday announced Corey Brooks, senior pastor at New Beginnings Church, will be a director on the Illinois Tollway Board, the Downers Grove-based authority that controls toll roads.

Former Charter Schools CEO Earning $250K As Rauner’s Adviser

For weeks, Beth Purvis’ role in the administration had been somewhat of a mystery. Not until after several inquiries from The Associated Press did the Rauner administration disclose that Purvis — a key member of the governor’s transition team — is now earning $250,000 a year to advise him on education policy.
