The fatal shooting happened Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood. Ramon Gartman, 33, was discovered unresponsive in the 8400 block of South Commercial at 11:48 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his face, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Maria Sadelski, 54, was found at 8:10 p.m. in the basement of her home in the 4800 block of South Karlov Avenue, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She had apparent “blunt trauma to the head” and was dead at the scene, authorities said.
