The most recent shooting happened early Wednesday in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side. About 1:20 a.m., a 26-year-old man was driving southbound in the 5900 block of North Winthrop Avenue when a gunman opened fire from the sidewalk, according to Chicago Police.
About 8:35 p.m., the woman was in a vehicle in the 3600 block of West 85th Place when someone in a nearby SUV shot her in the neck and cheek, police said.
The fire broke out about 4:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of West 83rd Place, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.
In the most recent shooting, a man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
Joshua Poe, 26, shot Curtis Lyons in the head about 3:10 p.m. in the 3100 block of West 84th Place, authorities said. Lyons, of the 8000 block of South Richmond Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Omar Dixon, 23, is charged with murder and armed robbery, according to Chicago Police. The victim was walking through a gangway at 5:52 p.m. Jan. 14 in the 8100 block of South Artesian Avenue when Dixon approached, pulled a handgun and announced a robbery before shooting Harris in the chest, according to police.

Andre Brown, 26, stabbed 54-year-old Damita Collins once in the chest during a “domestic-related incident” in the 3500 block of West 77th Place about 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said it started as a traffic stop in the 7700 block of South Kedzie Avenue around 9:15 a.m. The man tried to drive off, and crashed his car at a gas station. After crashing the car, he claimed to have a bomb in his car, and warned police not to approach.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head about 8:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Justine Street on Sunday. The boy, of the 1000 block of West 78th Street, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Relatives said the man who killed two women and injured two men before killing himself in the Ashburn neighborhood on Monday suffered from mental health issues, and got into a fight with his girlfriend a day earlier when she ended their relationship.
