Police released a sketch Monday of a man suspected of trying to abduct a boy from a stroller in northwest suburban Elgin on Thursday evening.
Just before 8 p.m., a 45-year-old woman was walking with the boy in a stroller and a girl on foot near Gertrude and Morgan streets, according to a statement from Elgin police. An unmarked white cargo van made a U-turn and pulled up to them, and a man got out and tried to take the boy.
Gabino A. Torres, 36, of the 7200 block of North Bell Avenue in Chicago is in custody charged with unlawful restraint and attempted kidnapping, according to Skokie police.
