The fatal shooting happened Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood. Ramon Gartman, 33, was discovered unresponsive in the 8400 block of South Commercial at 11:48 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his face, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Illinois State Police said, shortly before 5 a.m., someone inside one vehicle fired multiple shots at another vehicle on the Bishop Ford, wounding a 26-year-old man in the second car. A 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman who also were in that car were not wounded.
