A woman was seriously injured after jumping out of an SUV traveling northbound on the Bishop Ford Expressway Saturday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
Three people suffered minor injuries early Friday, when someone in another vehicle shot up their car on the Dan Ryan Expressway, the 19th shooting so far this year on Chicago area expressways, matching last year’s total for the entire year.
The fatal shooting happened Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood. Ramon Gartman, 33, was discovered unresponsive in the 8400 block of South Commercial at 11:48 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his face, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The shooting happened about 11 p.m. in the northbond lanes of I-94, between 111th Street and Stony Island Avenue, according to Illinois State Police Sgt. Alex Diaz. Two vehicles were involved in the incident.
