Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said he’s still taking it easy after his heart attack last month, but there’s no way he can completely get away from his job as the city’s top cop.
Police Supt. Garry McCarthy on Wednesday made his first public appearance since undergoing an emergency heart procedure last week, joking with a class of new police recruits that “Word of my demise was greatly exaggerated.”
“The procedure went well and he will remain in the hospital for several more days while he recuperates,” Police spokesman Adam Collins said in an email.
