The Saints offseason turmoil took another turn Monday afternoon when reports surfaced that soon-to-be suspended Saints GM Mickey Loomis had an electronic device in his Superdome suite that enabled him to eavesdrop on opposing coaches.
Saints coach Sean Payton has decided to file on Friday an appeal of his season-long suspension with the NFL, a person familiar with the decision said.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday an appeal by Payton could leave him in charge of the Saints — at least temporarily.
