All lanes on the northbound Kennedy Expressway have reopened on the Near West Side after a load of bricks spilled from a semi and scattered across two lanes early Thursday.
One of two construction workers injured in a partial wall collapse at the Westfield Hawthorn Mall in north suburban Vernon Hills late Thursday night has died.
The commercial building’s parapet wall collapsed at about 4 p.m., sending bricks and an awning crashing to the ground at 136 and 138 Broadway.
On the North Side of Chicago during the past two days, bricks have been thrown through the windows of some political and governmental offices. CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov reports.
