Natural Gas Explosion Likely Caused Building Collapse

Fire investigators have determined a buildup of natural gas at an apartment building in Washington Park likely caused an explosion that leveled the building over the weekend, injuring two women who were inside.

Two Women Rescued From Building Collapse

Firefighters swarmed the property at 58th Street and Calumet Avenue around 7 p.m. after reports of an explosion, and they pulled two women from the flattened property.
