Officers responding to a call of a suspicious person about 9 p.m. in the 9200 block of South Stony Island found escapee Kamron T. Taylor, who led them on a brief foot chase, according to a statement from Chicago Police.
Marcus Battice was captured around 7:30 a.m., about 3.5 miles away from the Vandalia prison, according to IDOC spokesman Tom Shaer.
Authorities had called him the “Hooded Bandit” because he often wore hoods during the alleged robberies.
