Police from several towns raided a recycling plant on the West Side Wednesday. What they found were hundreds of expensive catalytic converters believed to be stolen from cars and trucks.
Thieves used electric saws to remove the catalytic converters from two vehicles at the Metra station at 123rd Street and 82nd Avenue on Thursday.
Skokie officers pulled them over about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 7300 block of Lawndale Avenue after realizing the white minivan they were in matched the description of a vehicle connected to recent thefts.
