A 16-year-old boy died in a shooting within two blocks of his home Wednesday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The most recent fatal shooting happened early Monday in West Englewood. Officers found a man, thought to be in his 50s, unresponsive on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1500 block of West 72nd Street about 12:45 a.m.

Larry Martin, 28, suffered a stab wound to the chest about 6:40 p.m. at his home in the 6800 block of South Talman Avenue.
A 14-year-old boy was shot Tuesday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The 28-year-old was outside in the 7000 block of South Rockwell Street about 1:50 p.m. when a silver, four-door vehicle drove by and someone inside shot him in the right shoulder.
The boy was standing on a sidewalk in the 6300 block of South Mozart Street about 6:20 p.m. when someone walked up to him from a gangway and fired a shot that hit the boy in the head.
The woman, 32, was walking with two males at West 59th Street and South Campbell Avenue about 12:20 a.m. when two gunmen across the street opened fire.
The man accused of killing a convenience store clerk and shooting a father of 10 asked for protective custody at his bond hearing Wednesday, but the judge denied his request.
Joey Jones, 31, has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 57-year-old Omar Maslat, a cashier at a convenience store in the 2400 block of West 63rd Street. He’s also been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of 50-year-old Brion Payne in Uptown.
The man, thought to be in his 50s, was shot in the chest about 6:15 a.m. in the 2400 block of West 63rd Street.

Devon Clark, 19, of the 600 block of East 50th Place, is charged with the first-degree murder of Joseph Brittman.
