DeLeshe Wins Final Stickney Village Trustee Seat On Coin Flip

Cook County Clerk David Orr flipped the coin at his downtown Chicago office, to decide the race between Lea Torres and David DeLeshe, who’d tied for third place with 573 votes in the Stickney village trustee race.

Early Voting Begins For 2nd District, Suburban Races

Orr To Ask Judge To Adjust Schedule For Special Election To Replace Jackson

Now that Jesse Jackson Jr. has resigned his seat in Congress, Gov. Pat Quinn must set the date for an election to fill the seat. Cook County Clerk David Orr has a plan — and hopes the courts will go along.

CBS 2 has learned U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. planned to step down weeks ago, ostensibly for mental health reasons, but a legal source said he talked Jackson and his wife, Sandi, out of that decision to resign before the election.
