According to a community alert from Chicago Police, the girl was walking home from school in the 1000 block of East 63rd Street shortly before 4 p.m., when a man grabbed her from behind, and tried to pull her into a white full-sized van with painted windows.
The two suspected would-be robbers fled the Portillo’s in Merrillville, but were eventually caught near the restaurant.
