Kenosha police say a male suspect is in custody and being treated for smoke inhalation following the Tuesday evening incident. Police responded to a domestic violence report at the home Tuesday and found the infant with unspecified injuries. The child died at a hospital.
The girl was found around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in her home in the 3300 block of North Natchez Avenue. Investigators have not said how she died, or shy police were called to the home, but she suffered apparent trauma to her body.

An Elgin woman has been charged with murdering a 61-year-old acquaintance found dead in his burning northwest suburban apartment Saturday morning. Charges are pending against a second suspect, police said.
