A Palestinian immigrant who hid an Israeli terrorism conviction from U.S. authorities when she moved to the Chicago suburbs in the 1990s has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison and will likely be deported to Jordan upon her release.
Illinois-native Adam Everett Livvix, 30, has been charged with possessing weapons that Israel says he planned to use to blow up unidentified Jerusalem holy sites. Israeli police said Livvix also turned down an offer from a Palestinian to assassinate U.S. President Barack Obama during the leader’s visit to the Holy Land in 2013.
Rasmieh Yousef Odeh of Evergreen Park turned down a plea agreement last week in Detroit federal court and fired her attorney. Her new lawyer, Michael Deutsch, has made a career of representing political activists.
