The Eastern Conference finals took a dramatic turn for the Chicago Bulls following a 21-point rout of the Miami Heat in Game 1. Over their next three games, the Bulls would struggle in the second half and found themselves coming up short to the Heat.
The Eastern Conference finals couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the Chicago Bulls, a 21-point rout gave Chicago a 1-0 series lead. But since that point, everything has gone the way of the Miami Heat.
There was a huge difference for the Chicago Bulls between the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals, and not just in the end result.
The Chicago Bulls won Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals by 21 points. Despite the rout of the Miami Heat, Chicago still only leads the series 1-0, and they’ll need to win Game 2 to preserve home-court advantage.
A win on Thursday night and the Chicago Bulls would eliminate the Atlanta Hawks and advance toe the Eastern Conference finals to take on Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
