A police source said divers were searching for human remains after detectives received information that a man may have murdered his girlfriend, dismembered her and disposed of her body in the lagoon at the Southwest Side park.
Chicago police spent a large part of the day Tuesday at Marquette Park with the Water Department draining a lagoon on the east end of the park, and on Wednesday. Sources said investigators were searching for the body of Laneesha Miller, who disappeared three weeks ago.
